You’d better keep an eye out in case Microsoft steals this idea, I wouldn’t put it past them.

I could not help but think of this the second they made the announcement. Clippy is so annoying…Phoney would have to be obnoxious.
I’m glad you added one in. I meant to say “what would he say to you?” so I just added it. LOL! That was a good one. I only talk to my parents on it so no one would be trying to contact me. I don’t do video. I would just stick a sock monkey up to the camera and talk.

It’s funny you mention the sock monkey. People on Skype have asked me over and over again on why I use a sock monkey on the screen. I’m tired of telling people that’s actually my FACE!!

LOL I’m sure that is so not true. I think it would be funny to hold up your avatar to the camera..they would be like…wow he really does look like a cartoon.

Melinda, you rock! You actually found the one piece of humor in that dreadful deal between MS and Skype. Phoney might actually save Skype from the fate of past abandonware.

Oh no! I had almost completely forgotten about that stupid paper clip at the bottom of the screen. The new MS Office doesn’t have it (that I’ve seen, and thank the heavens!) That thing was the most annoying thing Microsoft did. Let’s hope that this isn’t a ploy for MS to actually take over the world and make us all use Windows phones now.
I hope not. I think my iPhone can beat up Phoney.
I guess Phoney would say something like “Your time is out! You are sitting online for more than … hrs! Leave me immediately! Otherwise, your mind will crash and … your PC as well!”
Ha! I was just telling my husband that I wanted a WebCam so I could skype and v-log and whatnot. He was NOT amused with this suggestion and does not want me to get a webcam. Should I turn him into the authorities?

I remember that Clippy thing! He usually instructs me things to do that I already knew. Phoney, on the other hand, is really funny! And rude in a good way, heehee! If Phoney were to become a real thing, then I guess the things he says should be customizable, and people can add witty or funny lines that he can use, just to keep things to the lighter side.

Oh man, I couldn’t stand that annoying paperclip! It’s always “it seems you are trying to write a letter”, and I’d be all “YES NOW LEAVE ME ALONE! ARG!”. Phoney seems just as annoying – a really funny idea, hopefully you aren’t right though, or that would just be awful!
